Terms of Service
Last updated: July 19, 2026 — version pending professional legal review
1. Purpose
These Terms of Service (hereinafter "Terms") set out the rules governing access to and use of the Meyandy platform (hereinafter "the Platform"), operated by Meyandy LLC, a company registered in the State of Delaware, United States, and locally by Meyandy Cameroun SARL, based in Douala, Cameroon.
2. Acceptance of the Terms
Creating an account on the Platform implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms. Any user who does not accept the Terms must not use the Platform.
3. Description of services
Meyandy is a professional platform connecting talents, clients, recruiters and small businesses across Africa and the diaspora. The Platform enables:
- Creation of professional profiles that can display distinct evidence, including verified identity
- Posting and browsing of missions, job offers and service requests
- Applying to missions and jobs
- Creating portfolios, business pages and online stores through Meyandy Web Space
- Payment processing through Swychr for supported Mobile Money flows or Stripe for cards when available, with transaction status tracked in Meyandy
- Messaging between talents, clients, recruiters and businesses
- Reviews and professional reputation
4. Registration and user account
Registration is free and open to any individual aged at least 18 years or any legally incorporated entity. Users undertake to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Mandatory email verification: access to the dashboard is conditional upon verification of the email address.
5. User roles
A user can be a Talent (offering services), a Recruiter (posting opportunities), or both. Administrator roles are granted exclusively by the Meyandy team.
6. Payments and commissions
The following payment rules apply:
- Payment is processed by the provider offered. Meyandy waits for provider confirmation, tracks the transaction status, and does not request payout to the talent before the applicable release event. This arrangement does not mean Meyandy itself provides a regulated escrow account.
- Payout to the talent is requested after recruiter approval or automatically 7 days after delivery when no eligible dispute has been opened. Credit timing then depends on the provider and operator.
- Meyandy charges the Standard or Pro commission defined for the country and displayed before confirmation. The applicable commission and net amount appear in the transaction summary and on the pricing page.
- The minimum amount per opportunity is defined per country and shown at publication.
- A transaction that has already been released can no longer be cancelled with a simple button. Statutory rights, eligible refunds, provider errors, and chargebacks remain handled according to the facts, provider rules, and applicable law.
6 bis. Tax obligations of selling talents
Each talent who sells a digital product, packaged offer, service or any other item through Meyandy acts as an independent seller. As such, the talent is solely responsible for understanding, declaring, collecting where applicable and remitting all taxes, duties, contributions, withholdings or other tax obligations applicable in their country of residence, country of activity or any other country concerned by the sale.
Unless otherwise required by law or by a mechanism expressly announced on the Platform, Meyandy does not act as the talent's tax collector, tax agent, tax representative or tax advisor. Commissions, service fees or payment fees charged by Meyandy do not constitute tax collection on behalf of any tax authority.
The talent agrees to indemnify Meyandy against any claim, penalty, tax adjustment, fine, cost or request from a tax authority resulting from the talent's failure to comply with their own tax obligations. If a law requires Meyandy to collect, withhold or remit a tax on certain transactions, Meyandy may apply that withholding, request the necessary information from the talent and adjust the displayed or paid-out amounts.
7. Identity verification
Identity verification is not required to publish a profile, but it is required for selected sensitive actions, including mission applications and related payments. It involves submitting an ID, selfie, and requested legal information for review. The badge confirms only that identity check.
8. Disputes
In a dispute, either party can open a case through the Platform and provide evidence. Meyandy pauses the affected payout request during review, communicates its status, and targets an initial response within the displayed timeframe without guaranteeing a decision in 48 hours. The decision must give reasons; a review request can be sent to support within 14 days.
9. User obligations
Users undertake to:
- Provide accurate and verifiable information
- Respect the terms of accepted opportunities
- Not use the Platform for fraudulent purposes
- Not bypass the Platform's payment system
10. Intellectual property
Content belonging to the Platform (logos, text, design, and code) is owned by Meyandy or its licensors. For a mission, rights in specifically created deliverables are transferred or licensed to the client after full payment to the extent set out in the brief and applicable law. The talent's pre-existing tools, methods, templates, and works, as well as open-source or third-party components, remain subject to their respective rights and licenses. Source files and portfolio rights must be expressly agreed, subject to confidentiality.
11. Limitation of liability
Meyandy acts as an intermediary and cannot be held liable for the quality of services delivered between users. The Platform implements reasonable measures to secure transactions and verify identities.
12. Off-platform transactions
12.1 — Prohibitions
Users are strictly prohibited from:
- Sharing personal contact details (phone number, email address, social media handles) in Meyandy's messaging with the aim of initiating a transaction outside the platform;
- Soliciting, accepting or making payment outside Meyandy's secure payment system for any work or service whose initial contact was made through the platform;
- Attempting to redirect a Meyandy user to another platform or payment app in order to avoid the Meyandy commission.
12.2 — Sanctions
A violation established after review may result, depending on severity, repetition, and risk, in:
- A warning, temporary limitation, or account suspension, with notice of the reason unless prohibited by law or an immediate security risk;
- Temporary maintenance of the status of only the affected transactions during review, without automatic forfeiture to Meyandy;
- Permanent termination for established serious fraud or repeat violations, with a way to request review;
- Any legally necessary measure or action to protect users and enforce applicable law.
12.3 — Reporting
Any user who witnesses a bypass attempt can report it to contact@meyandy.com. Each report is reviewed; no reward is automatic and no sanction is based only on the number of reports.
12.4 — Automatic detection
Meyandy may use automated rules to detect or redact contact details in messages and log the event for security. A significant account action must be eligible for human review and challenge.
13. Changes to the Terms
Meyandy may amend these Terms to evolve the service or comply with applicable law. Material changes are notified before they take effect when possible. If a change requires fresh consent, it is requested explicitly; otherwise, the user may stop using the service and request account closure subject to outstanding obligations.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Cameroonian law. Any dispute regarding the interpretation or execution of these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of Douala, Cameroon.
